About Our School

The Tennessee Technology Center at McMinnville opened in May 1966 and is one of twenty-seven such centers statewide authorized by legislation enacted by the 1964 Tennessee General Assembly. The Tennessee Board of Regents governs the Center.

Programs are designed to prepare individuals for employment in the world of work, either by providing new skills or by developing previous skills. They also make a significant contribution to the student's intellectual and social development.

About Our School Efforts are made to update equipment and course content in order to provide educational experience necessary for an era of rapid technological change. The Center is assisted in these efforts by institutional and craft advisory committees, comprised of community leaders and prospective employers of program graduates. The administration and instructional staff consists of skilled and knowledgeable personnel who are competent in an occupational field, as well as being proficient instructors.
