The NET is a paper or computer-based test consisting of seven parts: essential math skills, reading comprehension for science textbooks, reading rate, test-taking skills, stress level profile, social interaction profile, and learning style. A minimum reading comprehension score of 51% or higher and a minimum math score of 42% or higher must be achieved for consideration for admission into the Allied Health Programs. Math skills problems consist of decimals, fractions, percentages, number system conversions, and algebra equations (30 problems in 30 minutes). Calculators are NOT allowed. Scratch paper and pencils will be provided and must be returned to the test proctor before leaving. Reading comprehension involves reading selections and answering questions (33 questions in 30 minutes). Preparation & Remediation: A NET review remedial class is available, usually held in February and May. The cost for the class is $91 plus the cost of the NET book. The class consists of 20 hours of instruction and is limited to 20-25 participants. Reservations for the class can be made by calling (931) 473-5587. Testing Process, Registration, & Cost: Test takers must pay a nonrefundable exam fee (cash, credit card, or money order) of $30.00 for computerized tests and $40.00 for paper tests in advance to reserve a seat on the specified date. Test takers who wish to change their test date after paying the test fee must give at least 24 hours notice. At that time they will be charged an additional $5 to cover administrative costs for changing test dates. Test takers who do not give at least 24 hours notice or who are not present for their scheduled test date will forfeit their testing fee. Admission to the
testing center for testing includes an acceptable photo ID and a receipt
